Older Americans Act Reauthorization Listening Forums

Complimentary to AoA's "Listening Forums", NASUA held their own "Reauthorization Listening Forums" for their members.  The first was held on February 19th in Dallas, TX.  The second was held February 26th in Alexandia, VA and the third on March 4th in San Francisco, CA.

Ask your members of Congress to support a 12% increase in Older Americans Act funding!

ACTION ALERT: Please contact your member of Congress and request that they sign onto this letter to Appropriators.  The deadline for member of Congress to sign on is Monday, March 15th.

• CALL your Members of Congress using the Capitol Switchboard number (202) 224-3121. Members of the congressional delegation by state.

• ASK your Representative to sign onto the letter to Appropriators. 

• Forward the letter to the person you speak to in your Representatives' office as a follow up.

The House Appropriations Committee will likely begin to report these bills around June which is when the full House usually begins consideration of the measures.  The Senate Appropriations Committee will then take up the measures and report them out in late fall.
