Reauthorization of the Older Americans Act April 9, 2010 -- Letter to Assistant Secretary Greenlee on OAA Reauhorization Senators and House Members Call for a 12% Increase In OAA Funding The annual appropriations process that determines Older Americans Act funding in FY 2011 has just begun. The House Appropriations Committee will likely begin to report these bills out around June which is when the full House usually begins consideration of the measures. The Senate Appropriations Committee then takes up the measures, and reports them out around September ideally. However, passage of spending measures is often delayed until well into the next fiscal year, resulting in a continuing resolution and/or passage of an omnibus measure, which was the case last year.
