The 2007 National Aging and Disability I&R/A Symposium, conducted by the National Aging Information and Referral Support Center, was held May 6-9, 2007 in conjunction with the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) Annual Training and Education Conference in Jacksonville, Florida. The Symposium provides the opportunity each year for information and assistance specialists from across the country to share information and successful strategies aimed at enhancing systems development, quality of service delivery, and professionalism of personnel.
The Symposium offered sessions for professionals working with both older persons and person with disabilities with a special focus on the Administration on Aging's (AoA) Choices for Independence initiative, as well as, on emerging trends, innovative program models, and cutting edge developments on a range of I&R/A issues.
Greg Case, Acting Director, Center for Policy and Program Development at AoA served as the keynote speaker at the aging-sponsored luncheon for the participants of the AIRS conference.
We want to extend a special thanks to the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the Florida Association of Area Agencies on Aging for co-sponsoring the Symposium and the Aging Luncheon. We are also grateful for the continuing support of the U.S. Administration on Aging and our partnership with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, as well as for their co-sponsorship and assistance in conducting the Symposium.
The National Aging Information & Referral Support Center is pleased to be able to offer the 2007 Symposium PowerPoint presentation slides for viewing. The slides may be viewed on line or downloaded.
